Frequently asked questions

This page brings together the questions founders, executives and leadership teams in Australia ask most often before joining our financial analysis programs.

If you do not see your specific situation here, you are always welcome to send a note or book a short conversation with our team.

At a glance

  • Programs are designed for founders and leaders, not for aspiring accountants.
  • We work with businesses of many sizes, from solo practices to multi-site groups.
  • Most sessions are delivered online and scheduled for Australian time zones.
  • You always keep the tools and templates you receive in the program.

Program basics

Start here if you want to understand who the programs are for, how they are structured and what level of experience you need.

For more detail on structure and tracks, visit the Learning Paths page.

Who are your programs designed for?

Our programs are designed for founders, owners, CEOs, general managers and senior leaders who want to make better decisions using financial information. Some participants have never opened a profit & loss before; others have been reading reports for years but want a clearer framework.

Do I need a finance or accounting background?

No. We assume you understand your business deeply but may not feel fluent in the language of financial statements. We avoid jargon where possible and explain terms using examples from real businesses rather than textbook definitions.

How much time should I plan to set aside?

Most participants schedule 90 minutes a week during their chosen track: roughly an hour for live sessions and 30 minutes for reflection or applying ideas to their own numbers. Some weeks you may choose to spend more time, especially when working on scenarios or cash flow forecasts.

Will the content be relevant to my industry?

We work with a mix of professional services, construction and trades, health and wellbeing, technology, and online retail. Examples in the program are chosen from these sectors, and we encourage you to bring your own context and questions into the discussions.

How the learning works

This section covers delivery format, online sessions, recordings and how your team can learn together even if people are in different locations.

You can also watch a real example of our teaching style on the Sample Lesson page.

Are the sessions live, on-demand, or both?

Each track combines live online workshops with supporting on-demand material. Live sessions are where you can ask questions and see how other leaders are thinking. Short videos and worksheets are available between sessions so you can move at your own pace.

What time zones do you support?

Sessions are scheduled with Australian businesses in mind, typically in late morning or early afternoon AEST/AEDT. For teams across multiple locations we can discuss additional time slots as part of a custom cohort.

Can my whole leadership team join the same cohort?

Yes. Many organisations enrol a small leadership group so they can share the same language, see the same examples and make decisions together. Our Leadership Team plan is designed specifically for this.

Will sessions be recorded?

Core teaching segments are usually recorded so you can revisit them later. Breakout discussions and sensitive details are not shared outside the group. Access to recordings is time-limited to encourage momentum and protect confidentiality.

Practical details

Here we cover questions about your financial data, privacy, pricing, payments and what happens if your plans change.

For legal and data-handling details, please also see our Privacy Policy and other legal pages linked in the footer.

Do we need to share our actual financial reports?

You are encouraged to work with your real numbers, but you decide what to share in group sessions. Many participants work privately with their own reports while viewing generic examples on screen. For custom cohorts we may review anonymised extracts if helpful.

How do you handle confidentiality?

We treat client information as confidential and ask all participants to do the same. Group guidelines are shared at the start of each cohort. We do not disclose identifiable client details in case studies without explicit permission.

What payment options are available?

Most clients pay by invoice using standard business payment methods in AUD. For many programs we offer the option to pay in two instalments. Larger organisations and custom cohorts can agree on a payment schedule that aligns with internal processes.

What if we need to postpone or move to another cohort?

We understand that real businesses sometimes face unexpected events. If you need to move a participant or team to a later cohort, contact us as early as possible. We will discuss options based on the timing and level of customisation involved.

Is this financial advice or accounting advice?

No. Our programs focus on education and decision-making frameworks. We do not provide personal financial advice, tax advice or accounting services. You should always consult your accountant or licensed adviser before making decisions based on your specific circumstances.

Still have questions about your situation?

Every organisation has its own combination of history, goals and constraints. A short conversation is often the easiest way to see whether our programs are a good fit.

We are happy to point you to a different solution if we believe something else would serve you better.
